Emergency Preparedness Class

The University Police Department and Emergency Management have partnered to bring a one-hour Emergency Preparedness class to interested University departments, teams and groups. The interactive discussion is designed to immerse participants in the learning process.

Topics included in the session include:

  • ISU Emergency Alert (what it is, how it works, how to register)
  • Emergency Guides (flip charts)
  • BirdWatch Guidebook (inside the Illinois State University app)
  • Department Emergency Response Plans

  • Specific Scenarios
    • Fire inside a building
    • Tornado hitting campus
    • Hazardous Materials Incident
    • Armed Robbery
    • Bomb Threat
