October 6 Power Outage

Update: 4 p.m., October 6

Power has been restored and all impacted buildings have reopened. Classes in affected academic buildings and activities in the Bone Student Center and Bowling and Billiards Center (BBC) will continue as originally scheduled, but we encourage individuals to consult with individual event coordinators. The COVID-19 testing site in the BBC remains closed today. Starbucks and The Landing will reopen this evening with limited service, but all other retail dining venues in the Bone Student Center will remain closed today. We do not anticipate any further outages or updates at this time.

Update: 2:59 p.m., October 6

As Ameren continues to address the power outage in the Bone Student Center and Bowling and Billiards Center, there will be a planned power outage for approximately 30 minutes at 3:30 p.m. for the following buildings: Student Services Building, Julian Hall, DeGarmo Hall, Fell Hall, Science Lab Building, & Milner Library.

Ameren Illinois continues to work on the extended power outage to the Bone Student Center and Bowling and Billiards Center.

Update: 11:39 a.m., October 6

Power to Julian Hall has been restored. Power is being progressively restored to affected campus buildings.

Update: 10:58 a.m., October 6

Ameren Illinois has restored power to DeGarmo Hall and the building has reopened. Students will be notified if a class location has changed. Power is being progressively restored to affected campus buildings.

Update: 10:45 a.m., October 6

Bowling and Billiards Center has lost emergency lighting and the building is closed. Classes held in the BBC are cancelled today. Power has been restored to the Student Services Building and Fell Hall.

Update: 10:34 a.m., October 6

DeGarmo Hall has lost emergency lighting and the building is closed. Classes held in DeGarmo must be moved and students will be notified by their instructor of the new location. Human Resources will email supervisors regarding relocation of employees to other on-campus facilities.

Ameren Illinois continues to work to restore power to impacted buildings. Instructors who need help temporarily relocating their classes during the power outage can contact (309) 438-1490.
