Why Report?

Do your part to keep ISU's campus safe and secure.

Members of the Illinois State University community who witnesses or have knowledge of a criminal action or other emergency should immediately report such action or emergency to the University Police Department.

State and federal law also mandate University personnel to report certain types of crimes.

New Illinois Requirements

The Illinois Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act now requires all University personnel to report suspected child abuse or child neglect to the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services by dialing the DCFS Hotline 1-800-25-ABUSE and notifying University Police. The DCFS Hotline is available 24 hours every day of the year.

Federal Requirements

Federal law requires University personnel with significant responsibility for student and campus activities and University personnel responsible for campus security to report certain crimes and incidents of sexual harassment. These individuals are Required Reporting Parties.
