Illinois State University is committed to the safety and welfare of the campus community. The Annual Security Report is prepared in response to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security and Campus Crime Statistics Act as part of the Higher Education Act of 1965. It is a federal law that requires colleges and universities to disclose certain timely and annual information about campus crime and security policies.
Campus safety and security at Illinois State University is a shared responsibility. The best protection against campus crime is an aware, informed, and alert campus community (students, faculty, staff, and visitors) who report crime and suspicious behavior in a timely manner and use reason and caution during their daily activities. The vast majority of our campus community members do not experience crime at Illinois State University. However, crime sometimes occurs despite our best efforts and yours.
We hope the Annual Security Report will be used to help foster a safe campus for you and others.
If you have any questions please contact the Illinois State University Police Department at 309-438-8631.
